About the role

The Surgical Technologist First Assistant - Main OR position at BayCare is defined by the American College of Surgeons as an individual trained to participate in and actively assist surgeons in completing operations safely and expeditiously.

Responsibilities

• Participate in surgical procedures under the supervision of a surgeon
• Assist in setting up operating room equipment and supplies
• Maintain sterile field during surgery
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon
• Assist in positioning patients for surgery
• Provide patient care before, during, and after surgery

Requirements

• High School or Equivalent
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Surgical Tech OR 2 years as a Surgical Technologist First Assistant - Main OR
• Eligibility for seasonal requires residing outside of local market
