About the role
The Surgical Tech position at UVA Health, Prince William, Birthing Center is seeking a Night Shift Labor and Delivery Certified Surgical Tech with at least 1 year of L&D experience and knowledge of ASST.
Responsibilities
- Works under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures.
- Maintains a sterile and aseptic environment in the operating room.
- Ensures proper functioning of equipment used during surgical procedures.
- Supports the physician in performing invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduate from an accredited school of Surgical Technology program.
- Previous Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
- Current Surgical Tech Certification required, or registration with the Virginia Board of Medicine if employed prior to July 1, 2021.
Qualifications
- Ability to create and maintain a sterile field.
- Knowledge of specialized instrumentation and equipment for various surgical procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure materials.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology.
- Computer skills.
Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and intra-op staff.
- Technical competency in instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique.
Benefits

On-call responsibilities as directed.
Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed.
Pay
The base compensation range for this role is $27.83 - $46.09 hourly.
