Surgical Tech

About the role

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Scrub for surgical procedures in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center (ASC) environment.
• Maintain and prepare supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical cases.
• Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and patient safety standards.
• Adapt quickly to changing patient conditions during procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with the surgical team, patients, and physicians.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or at least two years of prior surgical technician experience.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
• Understanding and implementation of aseptic techniques.
• Ability to adapt to changing patient conditions.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills with staff, patients, and physicians.

Qualifications

• Experienced in orthopedic surgeries required.
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred.

Schedule

• Four 10-hour shifts
• Monday through Friday
