Surgical Tech

About the Role

The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to facilitate safe and effective surgical procedures. They select, prepare, and organize supplies and equipment, scrub in on surgeries, operate surgical equipment, and assist with instrumentation and surgical counts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare supplies and equipment for surgeries.
• Assist in surgical procedures by organizing instrumentation and participating in counts.
• Operate surgical equipment and support the surgical team.
• Perform related activities under the direction of nurses and surgeons.
• Ensure proper preparation and organization for a variety of surgical cases.
• Maintain professionalism throughout.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Skills

Preferred: One year of experience as a certified surgical technologist.
