Role Overview
The Surgical Services Nurse Manager leads and coordinates perioperative services, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and PACU units, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care that complies with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily department operations, staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with surgical teams, manage equipment and supplies, coordinate staff orientation and education, and ensure compliance with accreditation and safety standards.
- Drive efficiency in surgical throughput and resource utilization, and foster a respectful, professional work environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be a licensed RN (BSN preferred) with current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years leadership experience in perioperative services required.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical instrumentation, and regulatory requirements is essential.
Additional Duties
- Participate in departmental committees, develop policies, lead staff evaluations, and ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality standards.
- Engage in continuous education, research, and departmental improvements to promote optimal patient outcomes.
