Surgical Scrub Tech
About the Role
The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing. Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center and participates in quality improvement activities.
Experienced in supporting the following specialties: Orthopedics, ENT, General, GI, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Pain, Plastic, Podiatry, and Urology.
Responsibilities
- Scrub for surgical procedures as a competent member of the surgical team.
- Prepare and maintain supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Support the Surgery Center’s philosophy, objectives, and goals.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Quickly adapt to changing patient conditions as needed.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and implement them effectively.
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and physicians.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or at least two years of previous surgical technician experience.
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred.
- Total Joint and Orthopedic experience preferred.
- Current certification in CPR.
- Certification in Operating Room Technology preferred.
