Surgical Scheduler

About the role

Axia Women’s Health, the nation’s largest community‑based, integrated women’s health network, is seeking a Surgery Scheduler for its South Jersey Fertility location in Marlton, NJ. The role supports a broad range of OB/GYN, breast health, high‑risk pregnancy, urogynecology, behavioral health, and fertility services.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for surgery, tests, referrals, medical/cardiac clearance, pre‑op testing, and review medications and health history as needed.
• Post and schedule all surgeries.
• Complete paperwork, prepare surgical files, obtain insurance pre‑authorization, and communicate information to patients.
• Fax appropriate documents to the surgical facility.
• Coordinate retrieval of all outside diagnostics needed prior to the pre‑op visit.
• Coordinate surgical venue and instruments prior to scheduled surgery.
• Assist patients, families, referring physicians, and third‑party insurance companies to resolve scheduling issues.
• Schedule laboratory and radiologic tests, pre‑surgical testing, consent signing, and consultations as needed.
• Relay preparation instructions to patients for testing.
• Prepare and mail surgical packets with necessary information to patients.
• Obtain pre‑authorization (certifications) required by health insurance for surgery and/or admission.
• Inform patients of any out‑of‑pocket costs when information is available.
• Scan appropriate paperwork into the surgical section of the patient’s EMR and correctly identify it.
• Answer telephone calls, triage, and relay messages as necessary.
• Maintain the surgery calendar and schedule all appointments into the appropriate provider’s schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay

$22 to $25 per hour (budgeted range; final offers based on skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job‑related factors).

Schedule

8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday‑Friday.
