Surgical Reprocessing Technician / 40 Hours / Afternoon Shift / 3:00pm - 11:30pm

About the role

The Surgical Reprocessing Technician supports physicians and surgical teams in various departments, including inpatient, outpatient, operating room, emergency room, and delivery rooms. The position involves cleaning, inspecting, assembling, packaging, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical products.

Responsibilities

• Documents and monitors all sterilization processes in assigned areas using steam, ETOH, Sterrad, and high-level disinfectants.
• Maintains compliance with sterilization standards and monitors all monitoring methods.
• Supplies the needs of various departments by preparing case carts according to the surgeon's preference cards, ensuring availability of supplies for each patient.
• Works proactively with surgical specialty teams to prepare necessary supplies, equipment, instruments, and implants for each patient.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a medical terminology course is preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and hospital personnel.
• Computer skills.
• Successfully completes the 120-day orientation and maintains competence during the evaluation year, including adherence to department standards, objectives, in-service training, and continuing education.
• Central Service Certification.
• BCLS certification preferred.
