About the Role

Join our highly motivated surgical organ recovery team in a fast-paced, challenging, and life-saving environment that requires travel on private jets to hospitals throughout the western United States. As a Surgical Recovery Coordinator (SRC), you will lead the surgical team, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, documenting organ recovery activities, and performing hands-on procedures. You will also participate in organ preservation and transportation, including machine preservation of kidneys for transplant. This role is ideal for someone who loves working in the OR and seeks greater responsibility while maintaining hands-on involvement in surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the OR circulator, leading the surgical team during organ recovery procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with various policies and regulations related to organ donation and transplantation.
  • Document and chart all organ recovery activities accurately.
  • Perform hands-on procedures as necessary during organ recovery.
  • Participate in organ preservation and transportation activities.
  • Provide machine preservation of kidneys for transplant.
  • Ensure donated organs are handled, packaged, and documented correctly for designated recipients.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Healthcare certification preferred (e.g., EMT, LPN, CST).
  • Minimum one year of relevant clinical experience (e.g., MA, CNA, EMT).
  • Operating Room experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of organ and tissue transplant fields (preferred).
  • Computer literate; experience with electronic medical record charting (preferred).
  • Excellent public relations and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Attentive to detail and able to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel in hospital settings and adapt to differing institutional guidelines.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to move up to 70 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stoop, squat, or bend frequently.
  • Exposure to patient elements, including communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and other clinical hazards.
  • Strong critical thinking and ability to work independently.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.

Schedule
