About the role
Babylon Dental Care is a privately owned practice dedicated to providing exceptional dental care and community service. We are currently seeking a Surgical Periodontal Dental Assistant to join our dynamic and collaborative team. Our Great South Bay location in West Babylon and our Gateway Plaza location in Patchogue, NY are warm and welcoming environments designed to promote collaboration and creativity.
Responsibilities
- Utilize radios and follow SOP for use
- Full understanding and proper use of prosthetic forms
- Aid in lab case management
- Adhere to OSHA/sterilization and infection control protocols
- Assist with clinical procedures
- Manage new patient experience
- Keep up-to-date with email communications
- Comfortably hold space for anxious patients and explain financial responsibilities
- Participate in training to enhance knowledge of practice software
- Work collaboratively with the entire practice to meet or exceed monthly goals
- Generate and review reports
- Monitor treatment plans and case acceptance
- Take ownership of appointment flow
- Assist with patient care, including suture removal
- Set up trays and materials needed for procedures
- Provide post-operative instructions and assist with follow-up care
- Coordinate with front office for patient scheduling, referrals, and treatment planning support
- Clean and maintain dental equipment
- Set up operatory and trays for sedation cases
Requirements
- 3 or more years' experience in a Dental Assistant position
- Flexibility regarding scheduling (open 6 days a week, including early morning, late evenings, and some holidays)
- Experience providing exceptional hospitality-inspired customer service in a fast-paced Practice
- Excellent attention to detail and high follow-through
- A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude
- Outstanding teamwork skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (optional)
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- College degree optional
Pay
$26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule
Open 6 days a week, including early morning, late evenings, and some holidays. Most Dental Assistants work every other Saturday.
