Surgical First Assistant Technologist

Responsibilities

• Aids in the performance of procedures for the surgical patient in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Provides intraoperative care to the surgical patient.
• Safely and adequately provides and utilizes equipment and supplies based on patient needs.
• Performs tasks that demonstrate technical accountability.
• Participates in ongoing educational activities.
• Assists in providing preoperative care.
• Completes assigned goals.

Specifications

• Experience: Minimum Required: 2 years Surgical Tech experience
• Education: Minimum Required: Completion of a Surgical Technician First Assistant Program that includes didactic and supervised clinical practice based on AST/NIFA core curriculum for the surgical technician first assistant.
• Licensure: Minimum Required: BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIRE
• Special Skills: Certified Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technician First Assistant (STFA) certification preferred.
