Responsibilities
- Provide expert support as the Surgical First Assist throughout procedures, ensuring seamless OR operations.
- Manage the pre-op experience: confirm cases, connect with patients, explain procedures, and coordinate with the surgical team.
- Deliver excellence in the OR, including patient positioning, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating the surgeon’s needs.
- Support recovery and continuity of care: assist with safe patient transfer, deliver detailed PACU handoffs, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Contribute to training, education, and process improvement initiatives beyond the OR.
- Expand your skills by learning new surgical specialties and advancing your expertise.
Requirements
- 2 years of surgical assisting experience (preferred)
- Experience assisting in Ortho, Neuro, General, GYN, and Robotics; Spine experience is a plus
- Excellent computer skills, specifically MS Office and EMR
- Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Assist program
- Current state license where practicing
Physical Requirements

- Constantly seeing, hearing, and speaking
- Frequent lifting to 20+ lbs., bending, reaching, standing, walking, and kneeling
