About the role

The Rigid Surgical Equipment Technician I plays a crucial role in ensuring that surgical medical equipment is in optimal working condition. They inspect, evaluate, and repair various surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, evaluate, and test equipment to identify issues.
  • Disassemble and assemble equipment and instruments as necessary, including the replacement of defective parts.
  • Document all services and testing performed, including the parts used.
  • Maintain the work area in compliance with Visual Work Place (VWP) Standards.
  • Handle timecard and time off entry, and review and submit as required.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned or needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of experience with repairs.
  • The ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, and stoop frequently.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • The ability to use computer devices and systems as needed.
  • The ability to use various tools and equipment requiring hand-eye coordination.
  • A flexible work schedule to meet department needs.
  • The ability to handle and assemble small parts.
  • The ability to repair identified basic equipment models and maintain modality/department standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • 1-2 years of experience with repairs.
  • The ability to perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and use of various tools.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • The ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
