Responsibilities
- Prepare surgical rooms, instruments, and patient charts in advance of procedures
- Assist chairside during oral surgery procedures including sedation, extractions, and implant placements
- Monitor and update patient vitals, comfort, and post-op recovery instructions
- Sterilize and maintain instruments following strict surgical protocols
- Coordinate inventory of surgical supplies and track implant materials
- Support the surgeon and anesthesia team with setup and procedural assistance
- Provide detailed pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers
- Maintain electronic records, chart treatment notes, and assist with digital imaging
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Completion of a CODA-accredited dental assistant program (preferred)
- Oral Surgery Assistant Certification (preferred)
- DANB, ICE, RHS certifications (state-dependent)
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year of chairside dental assisting experience (required; oral surgery preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and calm presence in surgical environments
- Team-oriented mindset with high attention to detail

Schedule
- 4 days in Albany, 1 day in Latham
- Monday–Thursday: 8am–4pm
- Friday: 8am–2pm
