Surgical Assist

About the role

Fairview has an immediate opening for a Surgical Assist (casual) at the Northland Medical Center located in Princeton, MN. This is a casual (0.01 FTE) opening, meaning there are no guaranteed hours or scheduled shifts each pay period.

Responsibilities

• Provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.
• Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to better facilitate safe patient care.
• Perform duties under the direction and supervision of the surgeon and in accordance with hospital policies and applicable laws and regulations.
• Act in the Surgical Technologist role when not needed in the Surgical Assistant role.

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program
• 3 years Surgical Tech experience
• Surgical Technologist Certification
• Certified Surgical First Assistant
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association, Red Cross or MTN)

Preferred:

• 5 years Surgical Tech experience
