About the role
The Surgical Aide position at CAYUGA Health System is responsible for assisting with various surgical procedures under the supervision of the operating room staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist with setting up and cleaning operating rooms
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures
- Monitor patient vitals and assist with patient positioning
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist with preoperative care
- Ensure proper sterilization and handling of medical equipment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Skills
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures
