Qualifications
- Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent (required). 3 years of experience as a veterinary technician or assistant. Veterinary Technician Certification (LVT, RVT, or CVT) preferred.
- Experience: Experience in veterinary surgery or a similar specialty is highly desirable but not required.
Skills & Experience
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, animal behavior, and procedures.
- Experience: Experience with anesthesia and surgery preferred.
- Equipment: Proficiency with medical equipment, including IV pumps, infusion pumps, and diagnostic tools.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide compassionate and clear explanations to clients.
- Physical: Ability to lift and carry animals and equipment up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment. Comfort working with potentially ill and difficult-to-handle animals.
