About the role

CEENTA is the premier eye, ear, nose, and throat group in the Carolinas. We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Surgery Scheduler to coordinate surgical care and support our physicians and clinical teams. In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between patients, providers, and care teams to ensure seamless scheduling and an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule all surgical procedures for assigned physicians, including post-operative visits
  • Serve as liaison between physicians, clinical teams, and patients
  • Verify physician orders, CPT codes, and diagnoses for accuracy
  • Prepare surgical documentation, including consents, clinical notes, and test results
  • Coordinate surgical instruments, equipment, and scheduling logistics
  • Manage physician block time and identify opportunities for improved scheduling efficiency
  • Respond to patient inquiries and provide pre- and post-operative instructions
  • Document all patient communications accurately in the EHR
  • Ensure accurate scheduling of procedures, including correct site, time, and resources
  • Assist clinical team members with clinic support as needed

A typical day involves coordinating surgical schedules, communicating with patients and providers, preparing documentation, and ensuring patients are fully prepared for their procedures while supporting clinic operations.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office setting required; Preferred: surgical scheduling, insurance verification, Epic experience

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and workflows
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems (Epic preferred)

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Hours may vary based on clinic and physician needs.
