Essential Responsibilities
- Captures and coordinates the scheduling of all surgeries, considering factors like preferred date, surgery priority, and duration.
- Maintains a physical 7-day surgery schedule to safeguard against computer downtime.
- Notifies relevant parties of any necessary schedule changes.
- Prints and distributes daily surgery schedules as needed.
- Manages extensive customer relations by coordinating schedules with physicians.
- Utilizes the Patient Electronic Medical Record system to compile and report data and statistics.
- Ensures efficient operation of the Surgical Department by monitoring quality assurance statistics and creating daily reports.
- Verifies physician orders and attaches them to patient medical records to ensure appropriate care.
- Communicates professionally with physicians and office staff to ensure proper documentation.
- Works collaboratively with nursing and ancillary departments to foster a team-oriented environment.
- Reports potential patient safety issues using occurrence reporting systems and assists in their resolution.
- Assists in addressing patient concerns in a professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of experience in surgery scheduling required.
- No additional licenses, certifications, or registrations required.
- Advanced communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and calm communication under stress.
- Knowledge of surgery scheduling systems and advanced computer skills with familiarity in electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain long-term customer relationships, build trust, and respect through consistent performance.
- Effective collaboration with colleagues, patients, and external parties.
- Comprehensive understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and systems.
