Job Summary

The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to both the assigned physician and patients. The individual in this position will perform a broad spectrum of duties related to the effective and efficient scheduling of patients for outpatient visits and procedure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient visits, including completing data entry in Epic and preparing all necessary documentation within medical record for the physician to review.
  • Determine if there will be any insurance pre-authorization needed, and mail information packets to patients as necessary.
  • Obtain referrals and authorizations as necessary for all clinic patient encounters, procedures and surgeries.
  • Preauthorize procedures and surgeries.
  • Triage new patient referrals (fax and phone); email out new patient information.
  • Work Location: Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Highlands Ranch, CO.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED 1- 2 years of patient registration and insurance processes
  • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Preferred Qualifications: College graduate3+ years of patient/client-facing experienceMedical office experienceEPIC experienceMS Office experienceBilingual, Spanish-speakingUnderstanding of HIPAA practices and patient confidentiality
