Surgery Scheduler - Endoscopy Outpatient Lab

About the Role

PeaceHealth is seeking a Surgery Scheduler for the Endoscopy Outpatient Lab in a part-time, 0.50 FTE, day position. The salary range is $25.62 – $34.58, with the hiring rate dependent on factors such as education, experience, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgery scheduling between the surgery department (hospital or ambulatory surgery center) and physician offices.
• Ensure scheduling accuracy and timeliness, including documenting block release times for utilization reports.
• Schedule surgery visits as required.
• Arrange cases to maximize schedule effectiveness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• College Coursework in Medical Terminology or equivalent (required).
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a healthcare setting or progressive secretarial experience in healthcare (required).
• Previous experience in a surgical ambulatory care or acute care setting and/or scheduling position (preferred).
• Experience with CareCast/Flow Cast (preferred).

Skills

• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and scheduling programs.
• Detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions

• Consistent operation of computer and office equipment.
• Exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or negligible amounts frequently.
• Sedentary work in an office environment.
• Close visual acuity required for data analysis, transcription, computer use, and reading.
