Responsibilities
Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health‑care team members. The Perioperative RN plans and directs the care of every patient undergoing operative and invasive procedures and directs and supervises the surgical team members.
Requirements
- Graduate from an NLN‑accredited school of nursing.
- Current Louisiana RN license.
- Current BLS and ALS (Advanced Life Support) certifications from an ILCOR‑approved provider (e.g., Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, American Red Cross) that includes a manikin check‑off.
- Able to work flexible shifts and take call according to unit standards.
- Must be available in‑house within 30 minutes when on call.
- This is a WOW (Weekend Only Work) position requiring a minimum of five out of six consecutive weekends.
- Physical demands: good physical health; standing, sitting, or walking for long periods; lifting at least 50 lb; moderate noise environment; frequent reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing; frequent lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching; occasional climbing, balancing, crawling.

Pay
Employee will be paid for hours worked, plus shift and WOW differentials.
Schedule
Scheduled weekly hours: 32. Work shift: WOW – Friday 6:15 am to 2:45 pm, Saturday and Sunday 6:15 am to 6:45 pm. One holiday call required if it falls on one of these days.
