KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations of the facility, ensuring efficiency and compliance with regulatory standards. Act as a liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, and facility departments. Report facility activities to the Governing Board at regular intervals. Ensure compliance with government regulations and accrediting bodies. Lead Monthly Operations Review discussions with Home & Office team.
  • Business & Financial Management: Deploy and monitor operational framework within the facility's Quality Performance Improvement (QPI) program. Develop, monitor, and control staffing needs, operational budget, and capital expenditures. Manage purchasing plans and ensure compliance with group purchasing initiatives. Negotiate and oversee external contracts (physicians, ancillary services, maintenance, purchasing agreements). Establish procedure pricing based on cost analysis and local market standards. Monitor financial performance to prevent cash flow issues.
  • Personnel Administration: Conduct monthly staff meetings to outline facility goals and priorities. Manage exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring fair and effective leadership. Oversee employee performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and hiring decisions. Implement job-based orientation, training, and ongoing evaluation programs. Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies.
  • Clinical Services & Quality Improvement: Ensure surgical programs comply with regulatory and accrediting body standards. Collaborate with the Medical Director and Medical Executive Committee to evaluate and develop surgical services. Supervise clinical departments, including nursing, central supply, medical records, and housekeeping. Oversee contracted services such as laboratory, radiology, pharmaceuticals, laundry, and biomedical engineering. Lead infection control programs and medical staff quality reviews. Identify and correct quality care issues while developing statistical indicators for performance evaluation.
  • Medical Staff & Public Relations: Manage physician credentialing and ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws. Foster positive relationships between physicians, employees, and patients. Develop a system to assess physician and patient needs for service optimization. Lead sales and marketing initiatives to promote facility growth and new service development.
  • Administrative & Professional Development: Represent the facility at corporate administrative meetings. Maintain membership in professional associations relevant to ASC and healthcare administration. Stay informed on healthcare industry changes, including reimbursement policies, legislative updates, and business law. Attend mandatory in-services and meetings, ensuring compliance with professional conduct and confidentiality policies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Nursing or Master's degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a top administrative or management position within a large ASC.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, employees, and patients.
