Surgery Center Administrator

About the Role

This position provides leadership and direction for the efficient and effective operation of an ambulatory or outpatient surgery center. Responsibilities include oversight of operations, capital purchases, strategic planning, business development, and fostering a positive image of the center within the business community. The role ensures compliance with system-wide policies, procedures, and federal, state, and accrediting body guidelines while maintaining strong relationships with physician partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the overall operation of the site(s) to ensure continuous, quality, accurate, timely, and cost-effective services.
• Manages provider relations to meet operational needs and the needs of the joint business partnership.
• Collaborates with physicians and leaders to ensure a high-quality experience for patients, families, and providers.
• Provides leadership in compliance and privacy, implementing and monitoring policies, procedures, and standards.
• Reports significant compliance failures and ethical concerns to the Atlas Compliance Officer.
• Hires, leads, mentors, develops, and evaluates staff to promote engagement, productivity, and competencies.
• Conducts individual and team goal setting, performance planning, and evaluation.
• Leads physician recruitment efforts to attract providers and ensure stability and growth.
• Analyzes areas of growth, profit, and opportunity, providing recommendations to corporate management.
• Oversees marketing activities for the site(s), utilizing corporate and local hospital resources.
• Ensures financial stewardship in operational and capital acquisition processes.
• Develops, implements, and oversees the site budget in conjunction with corporate budget goals.
• Promotes high-quality service, supporting process improvements for clinical services and patient throughput.
• Leads innovation in operational processes to enhance efficiency and patient safety.
• Directs the planning, development, and implementation of policies and programs to ensure excellent patient care.
• Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, health services administration, nursing, or a related field.
• Five to seven years of healthcare management experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, demands, and issues simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, planning, organizational, and conceptual skills.
