About the role

The Surgical Technologist position at Forsyth Medical Center involves working in the Operating Room under the supervision of surgeons and nurses. Responsibilities include facilitating safe and effective surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and using appropriate tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures
• Maintain a sterile environment
• Use appropriate tools and technologies to support surgical procedures
• Work under the supervision of surgeons and nurses

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D - Operating Room Specialist)
• Previous Surgical Technologist experience preferred
• Current Surgical Tech Certification (CST, TS-C, NRCST, or SA-C) preferred
• New graduates must obtain certification within 12 months of hire
• Ability to successfully complete skill validation and competency testing
• Effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time management skills
