Surety Underwriter: Customs Bonds

Responsibilities

• Underwriting bond risks within assigned parameters and authority
• Drafting underwriting approval requests to reinsurers
• Aiding agents and customers with various bond-related questions and regulations
• Handling and/or assisting with bond insufficiency notifications
• Managing bond supplies and requests
• Handling and/or assisting with letters of credit and other collateral maintenance tasks
• Preparing various management reports to manage surety program utilizing various software tools including Word, Excel, Access, etc. and our proprietary Merlin software
• Working on special projects for reinsurance, collateral reviews, audits, etc.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of direct customs bond underwriting or related surety experience, with current binding authority
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to stay highly organized while consistently meeting deadlines

Qualifications

• Senior Surety Underwriter level experience preferred

Pay

$55,000 - $65,000 per year
