The Supervisor – Maintenance will plan, schedule, and direct daily maintenance activities for multi-skill mechanics and contractors. Available for consultations and assistance with maintenance or staffing issues throughout the mill.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule work orders.
  • Supervise the activities of Maintenance personnel assigned to their area.
  • Work closely with engineering to ensure capital projects are implemented with maintenance concerns addressed.
  • Assign and direct work to meet maintenance requirements while coordinating to meet production schedules with minimal downtime and cost.
  • Check all completed work before releasing equipment to the Operations Department.
  • Ensure build/repair documentation is completed and recorded.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of preventative maintenance, basic care, and documentation.
  • Issue direct and storeroom requisitions for repair parts and supplies necessary to perform Electrical Maintenance work.
  • Administer company policy, enforce company rules and regulations, and maintain discipline while administering the Union-Management Agreement.
  • Participate in plant safety, fire prevention, and housekeeping programs to maintain safe working conditions and practices, ensuring compliance with State and Federal Safety Standards.

Requirements

  • BSME / BSMET or equivalent.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Technical training/experience with Industrial Maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Industrial Maintenance (bearings, gears, conveyors, drives, etc.).
  • Experience with metal and process piping fabrication.
  • Experience with alignment and balancing of rotating equipment.
  • Experience with or understanding of vibration, lubrication, and infrared analysis.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and within time constraints.
  • Strong multi-tasking and relationship-building skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Capability to independently make sound decisions through creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and change.

Pay

Starting salary range for this position: $96,000 - $144,000.

  • Paid Vacation: Three (3) weeks per calendar year. Pro-rated vacation during the initial year of hire based on start date.
