Supv Maintenance

About the role

Directs plant maintenance activities to achieve high equipment and unit availability, supporting system operations requirements. Focuses on competitive production costs and high asset utilization through effective maintenance strategies, with an emphasis on workforce safety and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a team of Operations and Maintenance Technicians in performing corrective and predictive maintenance on plant systems and equipment.
• Maintains a safe work environment by inspecting job sites, reviewing maintenance procedures for hazards, and conducting pre-job safety briefs.
• Enforces safety rules and regulations consistently.
• Prioritizes maintenance of environmental equipment and systems to ensure compliance with environmental permits and procedures.
• Coordinates with the Operations Superintendent, Engineering, and Plant Manager to develop repair strategies and maintenance schedules.
• Assigns scheduled and emergency maintenance activities, determining when additional resources, overtime, or contracted services are required.
• Administers the Employee Code of Conduct and collective bargaining agreements.
• Sets work performance standards and expectations, and conducts semi-annual employee performance reviews.
• Develops budget requests for plant equipment and systems maintenance and capital improvements, including project purpose, scope, estimated cost, and benefits.
• Controls and tracks department expenses to operate within budget, forecasting expenses monthly.
• Assumes standby responsibilities on a rotating basis and responds to emergency calls outside normal work hours.
• Trains and evaluates employees on proper tool use, machinery, maintenance procedures, and safe work practices.
• Assists operating departments in monitoring equipment and troubleshooting abnormal conditions, determining appropriate maintenance scope and timing.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Maintenance or a related Engineering discipline in a Power Plant, similar industrial process, or military service.
• Commitment to maintaining safe work practices.
• Strong technical background and understanding of Power Plant equipment, systems, and operations.
• Ability to utilize predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, and tribology.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation maintenance procedures and work practices.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of maintenance management processes.
• Effective communication skills with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
• Familiarity with other maintenance disciplines and the relationship between mechanical, electrical, and control equipment.
• Ability to qualify on all watches of a combined cycle Power Plant.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or formal training in Power Plant operating departments, project management, and maintenance management practices.

Additional Information

As a public utility, emergency needs may arise, including during storm season. Employees may be required to support emergency response efforts, which could involve working outside normal hours or assisting with tasks outside typical responsibilities.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay

Salary range: $96,600.00 - $144,900.00. The salary offered is based on skills, job-related knowledge, relevant experience, and internal pay equity.
