Supported I/DD Employment Specialist

About the role

The Supported I/DD Employment Specialist at KenCrest supports the Employment Program and its Leadership Team. The role involves creating a streamlined process to assist consumers in finding and maintaining gainful employment. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, have experience with Self-Employment/Entrepreneurship or systematic Instruction and/or teaching, and are interested in a mobile and independent position.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-job training for consumers
• Build positive professional relationships with community employers
• Develop relationships with individuals served to identify strengths contributing to their success
• Encourage personal choice and decision making

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field, preferred
• Experience working with the I/DD population, preferred
• ACRE Certification, preferred (completion required within six (6) months of hire)
• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum of 2 years driving experience
