Essential Job Functions
- Aids clients in securing and maintaining competitive employment.
- Counsels and encourages clients regarding employment matters.
- Facilitates client appointments with Vocational Rehabilitation.
- Assesses clients' employment needs and abilities, setting realistic goals.
- Engages new or missed appointment clients.
- Participates in weekly treatment team meetings with mental health providers.
- Assists with resume development.
- Supports job development, including lead finding, application submission, interview preparation, and scheduling.
- Completes at least six employer contacts per week (IPS).
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field.
- Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field and CESP (national certification as Supported Employment Specialist).
- Approved CPR training requirements completed.
Experience
- One to two years’ experience with a Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree with CESP certification, working as a Job Coach or Job Developer.
- Two to three years’ experience with an Associate’s degree without CESP certification, working as a Job Coach or Job Developer.
Physical Demands
- Requires considerable physical exertion, including climbing ladders or steps.
- Frequent lifting of patients may be necessary.
- Routine exposure to threats of bodily harm (e.g., from clients or their families).
- Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissue.
- A driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
