Bethany Christian Trust’s Housing Support Fife is a dynamic and growing service based in Methil, providing a range of housing support services across Fife. We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Short-Term Housing Support team.

About the role

Short-Term Housing Support helps people sustain their tenancies by providing practical support to manage their home and daily life. The successful candidate will work as part of a team delivering flexible, person-centred support to individuals in a variety of situations, helping them meet their housing-related needs and achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver flexible, person-centred support to individuals to help them sustain their tenancies and manage daily life.
  • Build positive relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
  • Support individuals to achieve greater independence and positive outcomes.
  • Work as part of a team with excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • Proven record as a team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of the service user group and their surrounding issues.
  • Passion for supporting people to achieve greater independence.
  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Willingness to work towards an SVQ 3 in Social Care, Promoting Independence, or equivalent as listed by SSSC for a ‘Housing Practitioner’ (desirable).
  • Lived experience of these issues is welcomed.

Qualifications

As Bethany is a Christian organisation, this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with the Equality Act 2010. One reference must be from your church minister or leader to endorse your live and active Christian faith and commitment.

Successful applicants will require membership of the PVG scheme and registration with the SSSC.

  • 30 days of annual leave initially, rising to a maximum of 40 days depending on length of service.

Pay

£28,310 – £30,122

Schedule

Full Time: 37.5 hours per week
