Support Teacher
About the role
The Support Teacher position at The Center for Human Services (CHS) in Sedalia, MO, Pettis County, supports the CHS mission by assisting in implementing developmentally appropriate activities in the classroom that support children's development and ensure health and safety.
Responsibilities
- Aid in implementing a routine of developmentally appropriate activities by supporting children's social, physical, cognitive, ATL and language development.
- Implement a developmentally appropriate early childhood program, consistently applying MO Childcare Licensing Standards and EHS Performance Standards.
- Maintain Infant Toddler CPR and First Aid certification, help prepare materials and classrooms for early care and learning, maintain ratios while providing coverage in the classroom, and support general childcare tasks for evening meetings and events.
- Follow regulatory compliance by attending meetings and trainings as required by CHS, Licensing, Sanitation, USDA CACFP, and EHS requirements.
- Promote a positive Safety Culture by following established safe work practices and policies.
- Perform general tasks such as laundry and common area cleaning, and follow guidelines in food preparation and cleaning procedures.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the assigned area.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or High School Equivalency Test (GED/HiSET).
- Strong computer skills.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of Paycom platform, ChildPlus, MO kitchen sanitation regulations, Head Start Performance standards.
