About the role

PAML, a Labcorp company, is seeking a Specimen Processing Team Lead to join the team in Renton, WA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the accessioning department
  • Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas
  • Encourage process improvements and best practices
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Resolve any production errors as requested by management
  • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
  • Perform administrative duties as needed
  • Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year or more experience in a clinical laboratory or hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree
  • 1 year or more experience in AP or Histology specimen handling

Additional Job Standards

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Proficient computer and typing skills
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Comfortable handling human biological specimens including blood, urine and tissue samples
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, work in protective equipment and sit/stand for long periods of time
  • Strong eye-hand coordination in order to accurately identify specimens by touch and sight
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment

Pay

$23.50 to $29.00 per hour plus shift 2 differential

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
