About the Role
Turner, Padget, Graham and Laney, P.A. is seeking a highly motivated part-time Support Services Coordinator for our Columbia, SC office. Core part-time hours are Monday – Friday from 1:00pm – 5:00pm, up to 20 hours per week. This role provides administrative and operational support while maintaining confidentiality in all client matters.
Responsibilities
- Assists administration, facilities, records, and IT teams as needed.
- Picks up, sorts, and distributes incoming mail and packages.
- Operates postage machine and prepares outgoing mail and packages.
- Delivers outgoing mail to appropriate carriers.
- Copies, scans, and sends documents, case files, or materials as requested.
- Sends, receives, and delivers faxes promptly.
- Sets up, cleans, and breaks down conference rooms for meetings, mediations, and lunches.
- Ensures copy stations, break rooms, meeting spaces, vending machines, and public areas are stocked and clean.
- Communicates with vendors as needed.
- Checks inventory and orders office and kitchen supplies.
- Runs local and long-distance errands, primarily within South Carolina, with occasional trips to Georgia and North Carolina.
- Provides backup to the receptionist, manages the switchboard, and greets clients.
- Assists with physical file opening, closing, and destruction processes under supervision.
- Escorts vendors and technicians throughout the firm.
- Communicates with the property manager for regular maintenance and repairs.
- Prints, obtains signatures, scans, and mails documents as needed.
- Assists with scheduling and performs additional tasks under the direction of the Support Services Manager and Facilities Manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prefer at least six months to one year of experience in support services, office administration, or a related position.
Skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks within deadlines.
- Proficiency in sorting and organizing documents for filing and copying.
- Strong interpersonal skills for communication with attorneys, staff, and vendors.
- General computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic knowledge of office equipment maintenance and operation.
- Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a clear driving record.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, push, pull, lift, and perform fine manipulation.
- Ability to lift boxes up to 40 pounds regularly.
