Supply Technician II - Full Time- Days

Summary

Responsible for delivering requested supplies and/or equipment to various user departments within the facility.

Major Job Functions

  • Performs scheduled rounds and delivers requested supplies and equipment
  • Provides supplies to walk-in customers and utilizes proper documentation to ensure supplies are issued to respective accounts
  • Processes pick tickets and stages appropriate orders for deliveries to external customers
  • Verifies correct supplies received, manufacturer codes, expiration dates, and quantities
  • Utilizes applicable MMIS screens in the basic understanding of inventory management
  • Safely operates manual or electric pallet jacks to deliver supplies and equipment to the requestors
  • Completes Supply Chain Courier tasks in the absence of others
  • Aids in periodic cycle counts, code date verification checks, and required physical inventories
  • Processes returned goods from various user accounts, verifies correct paperwork is attached, and credits supplies to appropriate accounts
  • Accesses MMIS system screens to ensure proper inventory decrements or credits, revises or voids shipments prior to release, and ensures all MMIS Web Requisitions are printed and released properly
  • Receives Prime Vendor EDI transmissions into the MMIS system and verifies pertinent information
  • Identifies discrepancies between packing slips and delivery tickets and documents all information to ensure proper credit or reshipment
  • Initiates proper communication to purchasing, vendor, or requestors regarding issues with inbound supplies and utilizes proper documentation to assist in performance improvement processes
  • Verifies daily schedule and assigned courier route
  • Performs scheduled rounds and verifies pick-up and delivery of drugs and medications from Pharmacy upon emergent request from Pharmacy
  • Retrieves unused medications from units to Pharmacy and ensures proper documentation completed at end of each round upon emergent request from Pharmacy
  • Performs all Stat runs as necessary
  • Assembles specialty kits to be restocked on the units
  • If necessary, works with the “point of use” system (Ex: OmniCell) in identifying issues related to supply inventory counts, expiration dates, and routine tasks
  • Some individuals are not required to perform functions within the Supply (par) point of use system; however, in place of this requirement, the individual must learn specific tasks that need to be monitored and performed in Supervisor’s absence
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid NC Real ID driver’s license (or valid United States Passport if not Real ID) which will be verified by CFV Risk Management, to include obtaining inclusion in the CFV vehicle insurance program
  • 3 months’ experience consistently performing tasks listed for Technician I required prior to competency sign off and consideration for training and advancement opportunities for Technician II required
  • 1 year of performing Technician II tasks on a regular basis for competency sign off of Supply Technician II required
  • 1 year previous hospital experience preferred

  • Flexible to daily changes in operational and patient care issues
  • Ability to multi-task if necessary
  • Discretion in the proper handling of confidential information
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate these when necessary

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to see and hear
  • Capable of withstanding fatigue associated with continuous walking and standing
  • Capable of delivering supplies and lifting objects that may weigh up to 50 pounds
  • Pushing carts with rolling weight up to 100 pounds
