Job Description
Position Responsibilities:
- Verifies accuracy of shipment by counting, weighing or measuring items and comparing to information on invoice or packing slip and purchase order.
- Inspects items for damages or defects such as spoilage, dents, and breakage.
- Performs temperature checks of potential hazardous foods.
- Attaches invoice to purchase order and forwards to Dietary Office for recording.
- Prioritizes storage of items received, stocking frozen and refrigerated items immediately upon receipt.
- Stocks grocery items stored at room temperature last.
- Carries, hand trucks or pallet jacks items from receiving area to proper storage areas.
Qualifications
- Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Not applicable
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Experience: Hospital food service experience preferred, but on-the-job training is provided
