Supply Teacher Autism (SUP1)

About the role

The Supply Teacher Autism position at Hollydale Elementary is designed to provide temporary support in an educational setting, specifically focusing on students with autism spectrum disorder. This role requires a strong understanding of special education needs and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach subjects aligned with the curriculum, adapting lessons to accommodate students with autism
• Support students in developing social skills and emotional regulation
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and guardians

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in education or related field
• Valid teaching license or certification
• Experience working with students with autism or knowledge of autism spectrum disorders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Knowledge of evidence-based practices for teaching students with autism
• Experience with assistive technology and adaptive strategies
• Understanding of behavior management techniques
