About the role

The Supply Sales Representative is responsible for retaining and growing assigned accounts, prospecting new business, and increasing overall sales and profitability for the Supply Division. The primary focus is to meet and exceed targeted quarterly and annual growth within the portfolio while providing Legendary Customer Service. This role collaborates with various departments to enhance customer experience and proactively seek revenue opportunities.

The incumbent is expected to model the following practices daily:

Responsibilities

  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes
  • Provides Legendary Customer Service to assigned customers and potential customer base
  • Collaborates with leadership to identify Enterprise opportunities for revenue gain and executes targets
  • Meets or exceeds Targeted Annual Growth and Portfolio Health Target Goals for assigned accounts
  • Serves as the company “expert” on each assigned account and facilitates a positive customer experience
  • Obtains customer data to support sales growth potential
  • Performs monthly health checks with customers to maintain robust partnerships
  • Collaborates with leadership to perform quarterly business reviews of the portfolio with customers
  • Creates value with safety initiatives aligned with customers and Texas First Rental
  • Develops and executes business plans using SMART Goals for each assigned target
  • Manages assigned accounts, including price structure, accounting lifecycle (with Finance Dept.), and supply needs communication
  • Meets with customers to review relationship, growth, and commitment
  • Prospects and identifies new business continually
  • Prepares sales plans, expense reports, daily call reports, and sales reports
  • Maintains records of sales and business transactions
  • Prepares sales quotes as needed
  • Works safely and adheres to all safety policies; complies with company policies and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Minimum of four years of work-related experience; three to five years preferred
  • Expert knowledge of the construction supply industry and market
  • Expert knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales)
  • Excellent selling, negotiating, and closing skills with ability to build long-term business relationships
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Driven and results-oriented; focused on business development, KPIs, and market expansion
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities
  • First-class organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations
  • Strong mathematical computation skills (percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Strong listening skills to understand information and ideas presented verbally

Travel

Extensive driving required; overnight travel possible. Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods in a stationary position; occasional movement within the office
  • Frequent communication with others to exchange accurate information
  • Routine use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines)
  • Occasionally moves or transports items weighing up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Performed in various environments: job trailers/sites, plants, warehouses, and offices
  • Occasional outdoor work with exposure to extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity)
  • Exposure to computer screens, noise, dust, grease, and gases
  • Fast-paced work environment with unscheduled interruptions
