Position Summary
The Specialist, Supply Chain is responsible for coordinating and executing domestic and international shipments of commercial, clinical, and development materials in support of company global operations. This role ensures compliant and timely movement of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), Drug Product (DP), commercial product, and research materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting GMP supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
- Cook up and review import/export documentation to ensure compliant movement of materials across global markets.
- Independently monitor shipments from origin to destination, investigate routine-to-moderately complex transportation issues, coordinate appropriate corrective actions with logistics providers, and proactively escalate significant risks that may affect timing of material availability, product quality, or create possible supply disruptions.
- Couple with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, and other logistics service providers to coordinate activities.
- Ensure shipments meet applicable GMP, GDP, and company requirements.
- Monitor temperature-controlled shipments and escalate transportation deviations or temperature excursions as required.
- Maintain inventory levels of APIs, drug products, and critical supply chain materials.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure inventory accuracy and material availability.
- Maintain complete and accurate shipment, inventory, and logistics records to support traceability, audits, and regulatory or quality requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related discipline required. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in supply chain and/or procurement. Experience in Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry highly preferred.
