Supply Chain Professional Repair (SCP I - SCP III)

About the role

The primary purpose of this position is to perform basic level buying tasks to support the Purchasing department. The employee must be physically able to commute to various areas in the shipyard, including on board the vessels. Must have physical ability to walk to all yard locations for communication with operations and other areas and must be able to tolerate a moderate noise level commensurate with the shipyard production environment.

Responsibilities

• Support overall acquisition function within Purchasing department by performing basic expediting functions
• Resolve material discrepancies in accordance with established policies
• Interface with other NASSCO departments and Suppliers to resolve issues affecting procurements
• Bring complex issues to the attention of Management
• Organize and maintain files and keep accurate and current status of open material issues
• Understand the requirement of a complete procurement package
• Understand and utilize Purchasing Department information systems
• Procure goods and services within the appropriate delegated limits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Finance or related field
• Basic understanding of business practices
• Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Strong PC skills in Microsoft suite
• Proven ability and desire to learn

Pay

• SCP 1: $60,300 - $80,200
• SCP 2: $68,100 - $96,600 (minimum of one year experience)
• SCP 3: $82,600 - $133,300 (minimum of 3 years of experience)
