Supply Chain Principal (Principal Material Program Manager)

About the Role
Performs supply chain and logistics functions such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution. Creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing, and logistics) and outside suppliers. This role requires specialized expertise and may lead functional teams or projects, exercising discretion and judgment in complex situations.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and expedites the flow of goods, resources, and information required by the supply chain to ensure critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goals and performance KPIs.
- Coordinates with procurement, production, inventory control, distribution, transportation, and other functions to optimize the supply chain.
- Identifies bottlenecks or problem areas and escalates or proposes solutions.
- Works with suppliers to resolve issues and may assist in the negotiation of contracts or service arrangements.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree and 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- Less than 25% travel likely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Skills in contract compliance, data analysis, supply chain optimization, supply chain planning, compliance monitoring, supply chain planning software, and general data analysis software.
Pay
$114,000.00 - $155,000.00 (USD). Hired applicants may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.
