About the role
Part-time position with Saturdays included, responsible for coordinating and assisting with the daily support of operations, including inventory management and control of perpetual and par locations.
Responsibilities
- Identify excess inventory, return stock, and process credits; notify supervisor of outdates or slow-moving inventory.
- Notify the Supply Chain Operations Lead or Supply Chain Operations Supervisor of issues impacting the department’s operational efficiency.
- Maintain and rotate dated stock, ensuring working stock levels of supplies on par locations, procedural rooms, and the Central Supply warehouse.
- Use hand-held devices to inventory supply locations.
- Create and manage bin locations and labels as required.
- Answer telephone or customer requests with Orlando Health’s commitment to excellence in customer service.
- Expedite correction of all discrepant orders with the purchasing department.
- Report discrepancy volume and fluctuations; initiate process improvements and assist in their implementation.
- Maintain warehouse and par locations, including accurate replenishments, organization, labeling systems, and periodic par evaluations and adjustments.
- Follow procedures for accurate receiving and delivery of shipments; reconcile paperwork and issues to completion.
- Participate in putaway and validation of perpetual inventory items, and issue and credit materials from the inventory management point-of-use system.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clinical leaders and teams.
- Participate in department-based and hospital-sponsored educational programs to maintain skills and competencies.
- Cooperate and interact with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups, demonstrating a commitment to service.
- Communicate and listen effectively with internal and external customers; understand instructions and share knowledge.
- Act as a liaison for nursing departments and assist in training new employees.
- Work as a liaison between the Supply Chain department and clinical leaders throughout the facility.
- Provide support for annual or bi-annual inventory counts to determine asset value and additional inventories as requested.
- Perform basic system troubleshooting and maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and relevant regulations.
- Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed, utilizing problem-solving expertise to support patient care and expedite efficiencies.
- Process and log all system file updates related to supply location inventory updates and replenishments.
- Perform cycle counts on a regular basis.
- Present a consistent professional image in dress and communications.
- Operate supply chain equipment as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (preferred).
- Two (2) years of related warehouse, inventory, or customer service experience required.
- An Associate's degree may substitute for two (2) years of required experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
