About the role

Summer 2027 - 90 day internship Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., up to 40 hours per week. Location: Fort Wayne, IN. Reports To: Supply Plan Operations Supervisor.

The Supply Chain Intern will support the Supply Chain and Operations teams by leveraging business systems and data to improve reporting, visibility, and operational performance across the organization's retail network. This role will assist in building and maintaining reports, analyzing point-of-sale (POS) data, and helping ensure smooth operation of POS systems that support inventory accuracy, replenishment, and store-level execution. This internship provides hands-on experience with supply chain analytics, business intelligence tools, and retail system operations while working cross-functionally with Supply Chain, IT, and Store Operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and automating reports and dashboards using company business systems and reporting tools.
  • Analyze Point-of-Sale (POS) data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improving supply chain performance.
  • Support daily POS system operations across the distribution network, including monitoring data flows, resolving basic issues, and escalating system concerns when necessary.
  • Help ensure accurate sales, inventory, and transaction data integration between POS systems and supply chain platforms.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, IT, and Operations teams to support system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Document reporting processes, data sources, and system workflows to improve team knowledge and continuity.
  • Assist in ad hoc analysis related to inventory management, demand trends, and store performance.
  • Support testing and validation of system updates or new reporting features.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
  • Interest in business systems, data reporting, and retail operations.
  • Ability to organize and analyze large datasets.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting/BI tools.
  • Exposure to ERP, POS, or retail systems.
  • Basic understanding of supply chain, inventory management, or distribution operations.
  • Experience with data visualization or dashboard development.
