Supply Chain Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

Ruan is hiring a Managed Transportation Intern for Summer 2027. This is a full‑time position that will work a mix of on‑site at the downtown Des Moines campus and remote. The internship is temporary and nonexempt/hourly. Interns will develop skills for careers in supply chain, transportation, accounting, human resources, IT, or related divisions, working closely with internal and external customers and applying college‑learned knowledge in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of reports and presentation material (25% of time)
• Provide day‑to‑day business activities focused on meeting internal and external customer needs (25% of time)
• Fully support financial business case analysis (25% of time)
• Participate in major cost and process improvement initiatives and projects, and provide technical support in managing the business unit's financial performance (20% of time)
• Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required (5% of time)
• Learn routing optimization and carrier tracking
• Work on continuous improvement projects that directly impact Ruan and its customers
• Apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace
• Work closely with internal and external customers; strong verbal and written communication skills are required
• Uphold the company's organizational values and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
