Supply Chain Insights Analyst
Location: Hybrid – Alfreton or Wakefield (minimum two days per week in office). Contract type: Permanent.
About the role
Join our Supply Chain Insights team and play a key role in turning data into actionable insights that improve operational performance and support strategic decision-making across our supply chain. Working closely with analysts, development managers and operational stakeholders, you’ll analyse complex data, identify trends, develop reporting and dashboards, and support continuous improvement initiatives across areas such as inventory management, service delivery and third-party logistics. You’ll use business intelligence, statistical analysis and emerging technologies to help drive efficiency, improve processes and deliver better business outcomes.
This role is ideal for someone who is naturally curious, analytical and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for using data to influence decision-making and create positive change.
Responsibilities
- Analyse and interpret supply chain data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities, providing actionable insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and performance metrics, delivering clear and meaningful insights to stakeholders while supporting informed business decisions.
- Support predictive analytics, business intelligence and AI-enabled initiatives through the application of statistical techniques, data modelling and data preparation methods.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements, analyse processes and recommend data-led improvements that enhance operational performance.
- Promote effective data management, compliance and continuous improvement by ensuring data quality, supporting governance standards and identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency.
Requirements
- Data analysis and insight generation – confidence analysing large datasets, identifying trends and translating complex information into meaningful insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Reporting, database and technical skills – comfort working with reporting tools, databases and query languages to create accurate reports, dashboards and performance metrics that add value to stakeholders.
- Statistical and analytical thinking – use of statistical methods, modelling techniques and analytical tools to solve problems, support forecasting and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Attention to detail and data governance – strong focus on data accuracy, quality and compliance, ensuring information is effectively managed and trusted across the business.
- Collaboration and problem-solving – ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, gather business requirements and work proactively to deliver data-driven solutions that improve processes and business performance.
