About the Job

The Supply Chain Field Materials Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, receiving, staging and tracking construction materials on site. This role is focused on daily coordination, material flow, and hands-on support of field operations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Daily Field Support: Work on site daily to support Superintendents, Foremen, and self-performing trades. Understand the short-term and look-ahead work plan to anticipate material needs. Ensure materials are available, staged, and ready before crews mobilize. Continuously look for opportunities for just in time delivery strategy. Track waste.
  • Material Receiving and Verification: Coordinate deliveries with suppliers based on building sequence. Verify quantities, condition, and correct material per purchase orders or quantity take offs. Escalate shortages, damages, or incorrect deliveries immediately to Executions Lead. Maintain accurate records such as delivery logs, packing slips, and inventory counts.
  • Staging and Laydown Management: Organize and maintain material laydown areas, containers, and storage zones. Create clearly defined material staging plan. Maintain clear access, safe stacking, and proper material protection from damage.
  • Material Issuance: Distribute materials to field crews based on demand. Track material issuance. Prevent material loss, misuse, or installation delays.
  • Delivery and Vendor Coordination: Coordinate delivery timing with vendors and those responsible for offloading material. Support expediting of critical materials impacting the schedule. Develop weekly delivery reports in collaboration with Vendors.
  • Safety and Staging Area Housekeeping: Ensure safe material handling and storage practices. Maintain clean, organized material areas that support site safety plans.
