This is a 1st Shift position. All applicants must be US persons within the meaning of ITAR/EAR (US Citizen, US Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee) and legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Impact
Facilitate timely and accurate shipment of customer orders. Provide support to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage domestic and international shipments using Descartes TMS and Global Trade Management (GTM) software, determining transportation modes, preferred carriers, freight rates, HTS codes, freight classes, and ensuring compliance with export regulations and customs requirements.
- Process and distribute all required shipping and export documentation, including delivery notes, commercial invoices, waybills, letters of intent, ASN guidance, and foreign customs paperwork; communicate shipment details to customers, customer service teams, and transportation carriers to ensure timely customs clearance and delivery.
- Execute shipping and inventory transactions in SAP P01, including releasing delivery notes and production orders, processing inventory movements, reconciling discrepancies, completing Post Goods Issue (PGI) transactions, initiating customer invoicing, and reporting daily invoicing activity.
- Coordinate transportation and warehouse operations by scheduling carrier pickups, subcontract and return-to-vendor shipments, resolving shipment issues with carrier operations, guiding material handlers on loading schedules, maintaining shipping supplies, and expediting materials through production, paint, and final inspection to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Monitor open orders, credit holds, packed-later shipments, and order changes; collaborate with Customer Service, Credit, and Shipping teams to communicate constraints, implement corrective actions, ensure on-time shipment performance, and provide departmental leadership support in the manager’s absence.
- Maintain shipping compliance and operational records, including proof-of-delivery files, package tracing, freight claims, premium freight reporting, lumber records, and NEMA annual certification documentation, while serving as a subject matter expert for outbound and international shipping processes.
Requirements
- One (1) to three (3) years’ experience within Logistics or Transportation.
- Must be a US person as defined by ITAR/EAR (US Citizen, US Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics (required).
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
- Knowledge of Distribution/Shipping facility problem solving.
- Knowledge of filing special forms and export documents.
- Knowledge of SAP or equivalent ERP system.
- Experience with PC including internet, email, MS Office, and scanning.
- Knowledge of carrier and customer websites.
