As a Procurement Operations co-op or Hybrid co-op at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac, WI, you will work collaboratively with highly qualified supply chain professionals managing supplier partners for the production of outboard and sterndrive motors.

About the role

You will become an integral member of a supply chain team, learning to work in manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environments while owning and managing assigned projects. This role offers hands-on experience in a supportive, collaborative setting where you’ll apply academic knowledge to real-world tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Analyze current material flow to develop and implement process improvements, eliminating waste and streamlining operations.
  • Process weekly MRP and initiate corrective actions to ensure accurate ordering standards and effective inventory control.
  • Collaborate with peers and suppliers to develop cost-effective inventory management practices, reducing inventory through pull, VMI, or consignment programs.
  • Maintain regular communications to assess delivery status, supplier performance, parts deployment, inventory policies, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Investigate and resolve invoicing issues to maintain positive supplier relationships and ensure production levels.
  • Engage in and support Commodity Team Meetings and Green Belt/LSS projects as needed.
  • Gain confidence in influencing people and managing potentially contentious situations to achieve positive results.
  • Act as a liaison across the organization to drive execution within the supply base.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a BS program with a major in Supply Chain Operations or Management, Procurement, or a related degree.
  • Minimum second-semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits.
  • Ability to enroll in a formalized co-op Program through your University.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and engaged learner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered will vary depending on factors such as year in school, credits earned, degree, job-related knowledge, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
