Supply Chain Architect

Key Tasks

  • Serve as the IT architectural authority for Supply Chain and Operations-related applications and integrations.
  • Analyze business needs and translate them into end-to-end IT solution designs that support supply chain processes and methodologies.
  • Define and maintain current-state and target-state architectures, including application landscape, integrations, and data flows.
  • Evaluate solution options (standard platform capabilities, configuration, enhancements, or third-party tools) and recommend best-fit approaches.
  • Produce clear functional and architectural documentation for delivery teams and external partners.

Systems Enablement of Supply Chain Methodologies

  • Enable and support Operations supply chain methodologies (e.g., S&OP, planning cycles, master data governance, performance management) through system design and configuration.
  • Partner with Operations process owners to ensure workflows, controls, and data structures are consistently reflected in IT systems.
  • Support the definition and implementation of KPIs and reporting structures by ensuring accurate, reliable system data.

ERP, Planning & Data Systems Support

  • Act as IT owner or SME for Supply Chain-related system components, such as ERP planning modules, MRP-related configuration, planning tools, and reporting/analytics solutions.
  • Support master data governance (items, suppliers, planning parameters, reorder points, pricing) in partnership with business owners.
  • Identify system gaps, technical debt, and improvement opportunities; define enhancement roadmaps aligned with Operations priorities.

Operational Stability, Change & Continuous Improvement

  • Support incident, problem, and change management for supply chain systems to ensure operational stability.
  • Provide architectural input during releases, upgrades, and major incidents, including impact and dependency analysis.
  • Drive continuous improvement of system reliability, usability, and scalability in support of Operations performance.

Compliance, Validation & Vendor Alignment

  • Ensure solutions comply with internal IT standards, security requirements, and applicable software validation expectations.
  • Support audits and documentation related to supply chain systems when required.
  • Ensure vendor solutions and contracts align with business needs and architectural direction.

What You Have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6–10+ years of experience in IT roles supporting Operations and/or Supply Chain systems.
  • Proven experience in solution architecture, system design, or senior application support roles.
  • Hands-on experience supporting ERP and planning environments used for supply chain execution.
