About the role
The Supplier Quality Development Engineer (SQD) for Propulsion Systems at Stellantis is accountable for leading and managing suppliers through critical issue recovery such as quality spills, supply constraints and throughput OEE constraints to ensure high operational efficiency, robust industrialization, and capable manufacturing processes that meet Stellantis quality and capacity requirements.
Responsibilities
- Drive resolution of supplier-related quality and supply issues
- Support responsible SQEs in crisis management with local onsite support
- Collaborate cross-functionally with supplier, purchasing, supply chain, engineering, quality to resolve issues
- Quickly and accurately identify equipment-related issues, frame problems, and implement effective resolutions
- Apply advanced maintenance and problem-solving tools to eliminate chronic equipment failures and reduce downtime
- Lead the development and execution of preventive maintenance strategies to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned downtime
- Implement and sustain 5S and visual management systems to improve workplace efficiency and safety
- Plan, prioritize, set goals, and manage multiple autonomous and preventive maintenance projects across supplier and plant locations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate autonomous maintenance, preventive maintenance, and workplace organization into broader quality and reliability strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- Minimum 8 years' work experience manufacturing setting
- Reactive Green Belt Certification
- Self-motivated/ organized/ accountable and with a strong sense of urgency/able to prioritize with minimal supervision
- Strong Communication, analytical and negotiation skills at all levels of management
- Team building, coaching and program management skills
- Ability to travel within the North America Region
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
